16.1 hh Bay Stallion
We believe Future Illusion is the ONLY Stallion to have the outstanding record of siring 1st
Premium or higher Event foals from ALL of his 4 crops to date. A quite remarkable
achievement considering the wide variety of mares that he has bred. Many stallions can
produce a nice foal here or there (or from a nice mare), but this is proof that he stamps his
foals with quality and excellent conformation.

To educate breeders here in the US a bit, the BEF Futurity series in the UK is far more
advanced than anything we have in North America.

In 2009:
"After 12 evaluations which took place across the whole of the UK and in which 315
young Event horses from foals to 3 years old were assessed for potential to be the Elite
prospects, Future Illusion has emerged as the No.1 Sire of Eventers.... The rankings are
based on the average of the top 3 scores of their youngstock. A futher average across all
progeny scores is also published. The average across the top 3 scores indicates the quality
of their best horses, whereas the average across all progeny indicates the average standard
of all their stock. Not only did Future Illusion have the highest quality eventers, with his top 3
scores averaging as Elite, but his average across all scores is an extremely high 1st premium
score of 85.4%. These statistics show that not only does Future Illusion produce horses with
the potential to go to very top, but that he is also incredibly consistent in the quality that he
produces...
In addition to being the top ranked sire of Eventers he is also the Highest
Ranked British Bred Stallion across ALL Disciplines, being 3rd overall from 76 stallions
from across the UK and Europe with scores only marginally behind a German Dressage
sire and a KWPN Showjumping sire.
"

This is quite a remarkable achievement, along the lines of what you see in the US on the
USEF Leading Sires list, where hundreds of horses are competing, not an equivalent to our
fledgling Future Event Horse series (although we can hope this series will someday reach a
level close to that in the UK).  Best British Bred Sire in 2009 and 2010, and No. 1 ranked
Eventing Sire in 2009 and No. 2 ranked Eventing Sire in 2010.

Future Illusion's show results

Due to a busy breeding schedule, he has been competed lightly. In 2010, he made it to 9
horse trials with rider Jeanette Brakewell. Through the end of 2010, he had NO cross country
jumping penalties, and ended the year competing at BE100 level. He had three BE90 level
competitions (HC due to the riders overqualification for that level) and 6 BE100 runs. He
placed 11th or higher in five of these BE100 runs; the goal was to focus on rideability and
building a base from which to move up the levels, rather than winning at lower levels, so he
occasionally had time penalties that kept him out of the top spots. They hope to begin
moving him up the levels in 2011, although they will not push him. He is both a breeding
stallion and a competition horse, and they will do what is best for the horse. If he ends up too
busy breeding again and is unable to move up as much as anticipated, so be it. His first
crops will begin competing soon, which will be very exciting!

The Vital Statistics

Future Illusion is an athletic bay stallion with an exquisite head and no white markings. He
has demonstrated his versatility by winning in the show ring as a foal, yearling, 2 year old
and 4 year old across a wide variety of classes. He scored the highest mark for 'athleticism'
at the 2005 British Equestrian Federation Futurity Show (out of all ages and all disciplines)
with an amazing 9.1 out of 10.

His bloodlines are exceptional - he is by the ELITE stallion & Double European Junior
Eventing Gold Medallist
Fleetwater Opposition, out of the HEAD Stud Book, Champion
Sporthorse and Champion Hunter broodmare Future Illicit Affair. Fleetwater Opposition's
legacy lives on through his offspring - he sired the 1st AND 2nd place horses in the 2007 4
Year Old PAVO BE Breeding Championships which was an encore to siring the 5 & 6 Year
Old Winners in 2003 and 2004! With the addition of top class National Hunt breeding in his
motherline, which descends from the legendary Spiritus, Future Illusion is already proving to
be an exceptional sire of athletes.

His first 2 seasons at public stud have been incredibly successful, attracting a large book of
high-quality mares, including CCI**** and Advanced mares, as well as top hunter mares.
