Fleetwater Opposition progeny top Pavo four-year-olds
Fleetwater Opposition's progeny took the top two spots in the 4-yr-old classes at the Pavo
British Eventing Breeding Championships. Elite Opposition, ridden by Ruth Edge, won the
class, with second going to Opposition Detective, ridden by Kirsty Johnston, daughter of
Fleetwater Opposition's owner, John Johnston. Fleetwater Opposition died in 2005, but we
have a limited amount of his frozen semen available in North America. For the full story, go

Congratulations!
Two of our breeders attended the inaugural Future Event Horse championships at Morven
Park on October 3, 2007. Gaelic Opposition, by Fleetwater Opposition and out of an ISH
mare, won the 2-yr-old colt/gelding class with a fantastic score of 79. He is currently
ranked 2nd in the nation on the USEF Database for Dressage Breeding as well. This
fantastic colt is owned by Tanya Davis of Lexington, KY, and is destined for a career as a
competition stallion. Star Dazzler, by Catherston Dazzler and out of a ISH mare,
competed in the 3-yr-old class. He is owned and bred by Courtney Cooper, and should
begin competing in the YEH classes next year.
July 2007
Individual and Team PAN AM GOLD for Theodore O'Connor with Karen O'Connor. We
are very excited and proud to announce that Teddy's dam and sister are in foal to
MINER'S LAMP, our British TB stallion.
The first US foal by our stallion, CEVIN Z, will be retained as a stallion prospect by
co-owners Meika Decher and Tamarack Hill Farm. This lovely colt is out of Meika's
Advanced Eventing mare and is at her new farm in Washington State. Pictures are on
Cevin's progeny page here.
Tanya Davis' two-year-old colt GAELIC OPPOSITION, by FLEETWATER OPPOSITION
and out of an Intermediate Eventing mare, has continued his fantastic showing record in
2007. This year he's been doing well not only in the DSHB rings, but also in the new
Future Event Horse classes. Look for him in the finals at Morven Park in October, and,
keep in mind that Tanya will be looking for some nice mares for some test breedings next
year!
BADMINTON!!!
Final Badminton Results Show a TERRIFIC Result for our Older Stallions, with
FOUR horses in the TOP 20!!! How can anyone doubt the importance of using
proven stallions??
1. HEADLEY BRITTANIA -- by JUMBO clear with only a few time penalties X-C, ONE
RAIL SJ
8. HENRY TANKERVILLE -- by JUMBO, DOUBLE CLEAR X-C, ONE RAIL SJ
16. OPPOSITION BUZZ -- by FLEETWATER OPPOSITION, DOUBLE CLEAR X-C, ONE
RAIL SJ
20. MIDNIGHT DAZZLER -- by CATHERSTON DAZZLER, DOUBLE CLEAR X-C and SJ
Lucinda Fredericks has noted that Headley Brittania will be having some embryo transfers
done after Badminton. She was bred to the French stallion Jaguar Mail. See
www.badminton-horse.co.uk for the complete results.
2007 - Stanhopes Diddicoy -- SOLD OUT. The good news is that Lady Petersham has
had some test-freezing done and the semen looked very good! Fingers crossed that we
get more semen for this wonderful stallion for 2008 (it might make it here this summer, for
anyone doing late breedings). Please call if you are interested, as we might be looking for
people to do test breedings with this new semen at a reduced stud fee.
2006 - JUMBO'S PROGENY TRIUMPHS AGAIN! The 15.3hh chestnut mare, HEADLEY
BRITTANIA, with rider Lucinda Fredericks (above left), won the 2006 Burghley CCI****
with an IMPRESSIVE cross-country (only 1.6 time penalties!) and one of only a few double
clear showjumping rounds. This mare has been a top performer for YEARS, including a
win at Blenheim CCI*** and a 3rd at the 2006 Luhmuhlen CCCI****. Another Jumbo foal,
Henry Tankerville, who won the 2006 Bramham CCI***, finished just outside the top 10
in 13th place in his first 4* (above right).
2006 - Catherston Dazzler - Also at this year's Burghley CCI****, a Catherston
Dazzler son, Midnight Dazzler, came back from a rather poor dressage result with one
of only FIVE double clears on the cross-country with rider Harry Meade to move from 55th
after dressage to 20th overall. This is truly impressive, considering that 21 riders either
were eliminated or retired on cross-country, while 8 riders pulled out before even starting
the cross-country.
2006 - Aldato - The Dutch stallion Aldato (also known as N-Aldato) is continuing his
success on both sides of the pond. In Norway, Night Dancer has continued to win in the
International classes, and here in the US, Crazy Madam has continued to do well in the
A/O Jumper classes at the WEF, while Blast Off is doing well in the Young Jumper classes
again this year! For more detailed information about the foreign horses, go to
www.aldato.info, or look at his Brochure.
2006 - Fleetwater Opposition - The Trakehner stallion Fleetwater Opposition had a
banner year in 2006. His first US foals are three year olds this year (2007). Brilliant
Opposition, a grey Anglo-Trakhner, finished the year ranked FOURTH in the ATA for
2-year-olds based on his USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeding results. In addition to this,
he finished up FIFTH in USEF Zone 4 Two-Year-Old Hunter Breeding, and he only
showed in 4 out of 12 shows in the Zone. Another Opposition son, Gaelic Opposition,
did spectacularly well for owner Tanya Davis in his USDF DSHB shows, qualifying for the
Regional Championships. Gaelic Opposition is out of an ISH mare.
